Farm Certification Program

The Farm Certification Program began in 2013 with the goal of providing farmers in the watershed with a non-regulatory/confidential evaluation of the environmental risks as well as documenting the beneficial practices occurring on their farms.

Cost-Share Program

The Cost-Share Program was established to help area farmers try innovative phosphorus reducing technology on their farms at a discounted price, with the hopes of farmers adopting these BMP’s. Cover crops, vertical manure injection, and strip tillage equipment have been cost-shared in previous years.

Farm Tours

Educational farm tours began the summer of 2013. The purpose of farm tours is to connect urban and rural entities. On the tour, participants learn about the farm operation, the animals housed there, as well as conservation practices that are in place.
